The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha escaped an attack on his convoy by bandits on Thursday night.
Eight people, including three policemen, were killed in the attack but the Emir escaped unhurt.
The attack happened in Funtua, Katsina state, forcing the Emir to spend the night at Funtua police station.
Among the civilians killed were two palace guards and the Emir’s driver.
Meanwhile, the bodies of those killed in the attack have been conveyed for burial by the Kaura Namoda Emirate Council.
