Former Empire actor, Jussie Smollett, has been sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months of felony probation for the hate crime hoax committed in January 2019.

He was also made to pay restitution of more than $120,000 and a $25,000 fine for making false reports to the Police.

Jussie, on Thursday, during the court proceeding, said he is innocent and not suicidal.

He said, “Your honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but I did not do this.

“And I am not suicidal. And if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself. And you must all know that.”

The Judge, James Linn, referred to Jussie as arrogant and a narcissist.

“There’s a side of you that has this arrogance, and selfishness and narcissism that’s just disgraceful.

“You’re not a victim of a racial hate crime, you’re not a victim of a homophobic hate crime. You’re just a charlatan pretending to be a victim of a hate crime, and that’s shameful,” Linn said.

The actor is being monitored in his cell, as Judge Linn stressed that he is not in solitary confinement, rather he is entitled to spend some time outside his cell, telephone use, watch TV and interact with staff.

Recall that the actor, in January, had made reports and complaints to the Chicago Police accusing two unknown guys of racism.

According to him, two guys approached him and harassed him, hurling homophobic and racist words at him.

This was later confirmed to be false when the two unknown guys, Nigerian brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, confessed to the actor paying them to act in a scripted hate crime.

He was found guilty in December on five counts of felony disorderly conduct for making false reports about an anti-gay and anti-Black hate crime.
