A few Nigerian celebrities have reacted to the resumption of Lekki Tollgate collection which has been stated to begin in April.

Recall that the toll gate collection has been on hold since the EndSARS Protest in October 2020 where majority were allegedly injured and some murdered.

In a statement signed by the Managing Director of The Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC), Yomi Omomuwasan, the operation at the tollgate would commence on April 1, 2022, but fees will not be collected until April 15, 2022.

Reacting to this, media personality, Stephanie Coker, has lamented over the current situation of the country.

According to her tweet, Nigerians have been deceived yet again and our efforts have been wasted.

She said, “The bill for my car as a result of bad fuel is N3.7m, a 2020 car o! Diesel is now N780, and now that the power grid has collapsed, it will probably increase.

“I drove by Lekki Toll Gate and it states toll charges will resume on April fools day. Are we fools or are we being fooled?”

Kate Henshaw, equally took to her Twitter account to tweet about the resumption. She referred to the tollgate as the ‘death toll’.

She said, “The death toll is about to be opened for business.”
