Verified report has confirmed that some angry mobs in Okitipupa town, headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State, have allegedly set the Okitipupa Divisional Police station and Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat on fire.

According to an eye witness, pandemonium started after the police attempted to force the angry protesters to comply with the curfew declared by the Ondo State Government.

KaftanPost correspondent gathered that the altercation between the Police and the angry mobs led to the burning of the police station on Thursday.

Confirmed reports says that over 200 earlier seized motorcycles and valuable properties at the Police Station were reportedly released to the public.

The mob reportedly went ahead to attack the Correctional Service (former Nigerian Prison) in the town and attempted to release all the prisoners therein, leaving the prison workers untouched.

KaftanPost correspondent gathered that the angry mobs afterwards returned to the local government secretariat and set it ablaze.

It would be recalled that the #EndSARS protests in different parts of the country including Okitipupa town, Ondo town and Akure City in Ondo State have resulted into the wanton destruction of valuable properties by unknown hoodlums suspected to have hijacked the struggle against police brutality.
