Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, has opened up about how he had sold some of his properties for his latest project, Netflix movie, Jagun Jagun. A project he revealed to be a multi-billion naira artwork.

In a recent interview, Femi talked about the challenges and expectations of the movie, Jagun Jagun.

A movie about a warlord who is feared, exhibits powers and is worth emulation.

Femi said he had used his proceedings from his last major project Ageshinkole: King of Thieves and when it wasn’t enough, he sold his properties.

He said, “Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion naira project and I can’t say the exact amount I spent on it on shooting.

“I used the proceeds of Agbeshinkole to produce Jagun Jagun. I was working on not getting funded by finance houses and individuals. At a point, I was out of finance and because I had faith that the project would work, I sold my properties.”

Speaking about his challenges, he said he had troubles with the lands used for production. According to him, the land had been legally purchased but the owners had started with issues best known to them.

He said he had to use the place only on rent afterwards especially after persuasion from the monarch.

“We built from scratch the warrior school. We were forced with the challenge of purchasing that land, we wanted to own the land.

“And at a point, we had an agreement and paid for it, but the children of the owner of the land changed their minds about the land sale. We have built the school halfway when the children who came from Lagos told us to stop.

“They were ready to destroy all that we built and that held us up for almost a week, going to the Police station and Obas appealing to them and we were told to only shoot there and not buy it,” he said.

The movie since its release had garnered millions of viewers from all around the world.
