Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, also known as Aki, has opened up about how the death of his colleague, Ada Ameh, had affected him after her passing.

Aki in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, said Ada Ameh’s death came as a shock to him and it affected him negatively because Ada had been like a mother to him off screen.

The actor who played the role of Ada Ameh’s first son, in the TV series, The Johnsons, said the late actress had taken her role outside the set.

He said losing her felt like a part of her was lost. He said her death was the least news she expected to hear.

When asked about the death of the late actress, he said, “Ada was like a mother to me, you know!

“She took that character off the screen. As in, even outside production. I have met her severally outside, you know, that people will say ‘see your Pikin’.

“You know that kind of a thing. So it was like losing a part of me. It was really. In fact, that was the least story or information or news I opted to hear.

“That’s the biggest shock of our lives. That’s all of us. The Johnsons. It broke us… Forever.”

He went further to talk about how the crew had suggested that the show be suspended but they had calmed down to have a rethink.

Ada Ameh died on July 17, 2022 in Warri, Delta state. It was reported that she collapsed and was pronounced dead before she got to the hospital. She was later buried amid tears in Otukpo, Benue state.
