A lady identified as Chioma Nwadike rumoured to be the newest wife of the Alaafin of Oyo has debunked rumours making the rounds that she had left her husband for the monarch.

Chioma, with the twitter handle, @Omalicha_adannma, stated that she woke up to see people accusing her of leaving her husband to be another man’s 13th wife.

She said her picture with her ex-husband was paired with that of the monarch.

In a series of tweets, Chioma clarified that she and her husband are no longer together and in fact, the court is about to finalize their divorce.

She tweeted: “Recall that about a day or two ago, the news that the Alaafin had allegedly taken a 13th wife whose name happened to be Chioma was on social media, which news I read as well.

“It is rather pathetic that yesterday the 12th of March 2021, I discovered that the photos were attached to the marriage news of the Alaafin and has since been heavily publicized by blogs and new pages across various social media platforms.”

Although many hoped she would either deny or accept the allegations, she actually clarified the state of her marriage to her ex-husband.

However, with her long letter of clarification, one is still uncertain if she denied the marriage to the Alaafin or not.

Chioma also included that the news had damaged her reputation, hence, the need to deactivate her facebook account because of the demeaning messages that people were sending to her page.

Nevertheless, Nigerians on social media have reacted to the tweet saying the outburst wasn’t necessary if she wasn’t going to state the obvious at the end of it all. Some claimed she ought to say in few words to confirm the marriage or deny it instead of a long episode of repetitive essay.

A twitter user tweeted: “Title of the thread and the first tweet should have been…. NO, I AM NOT MARRIED TO ALAAFIN. Shikena. Just wasted all these grammar and still did not clear doubts.”

Another used the lady’s tweet against her saying she is just playing the victim card as a real Nigerian woman. He tweeted: “That’s Nigerian women for you, always playing the victim card.”
