Reality TV star, Mercy Eke, has revealed why she was in a relationship with her TV ex-boyfriend, Ike Onyema.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Mercy said she had to be in a fake relationship for the attention and money it was bringing at the time of the show.
Recall that the two had participated in a reality show about their relationship after Big Brother ended.
Mercy during the interview referred to romantic relationships in Big Brother Naija as a scam.
According to her, her relationship with Ike had been real at first but it was for a short time. She admitted she remained in the relationship in the house because she was unsure of the emotions her viewers had for her.
Then, the rest was because of money, especially the Mercy & Ike show.
She said, “BBNaija relationships are biggest scam. It was original for me initially. As a matter of fact, if I had known that I was a strong housemate and that people loved me for me, I wouldn’t have bothered getting involved with Ike.
“I would not say it was a strategy, for me, we flowed with it, but we had to put up a show even when not happy for people who are not even in relationship.
“If it is not working out, you move but in my case I could not, I had to be there because of money, otherwise, I won’t have the money.”
