Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has lamented over how an online fraudster had damaged her trust in giving and how her choice had caused someone losing their life.
Sharing this on her Instagram page, the philanthropist said she was defrauded of N370,000 a few weeks ago and as a result of that, she had ignored a woman who was seeking help on behalf of her son.
She said she got the message that the son eventually died.
According to her, the action made her feel so bad and she is going to hate herself for a long time.
She also prayed for the fraudster who instigated her actions.
In the text photo she posted, she said, “Few weeks ago, I helped a random fan with almost half a million (370k) cause they had mad challenges and she showed a baby and all, one week later, I just wanted to check on them.
“Boom! The account have been deleted, I took it with good faith, I was so pissed, I felt used and taken for granted but I moved on…
“FF to 2 days ago, I saw similar message, seeking for medical assistance. The way I deleted and ignored ehn!
“This morning, I opened my DM, the mother told me her son died. My eyes hurt from… My heart aches so bad.”
In her caption, she continued, “I will hate myself for a long time.. See the amount of damage one person’s lies and choices here caused… My heart goes out to everyone going thru one thing or the other!!
“I will beat myself up for this as long as I stop feeling guilt but the person who made me ignore that message. I pray you suffer more than the grieving mothers. SAY NO TO FRAUD.”
