Popular juju singer, Peter Akanni also known for his stage name, Emperor Pick Peter, is dead. He died aged 74.
The news was announced on Facebook by the Evergreen Music boss, Bimbo Esho. The singer is reported to have died on Thursday after a brief illness.
The Facebook post read, “Omo Ode Ti Ku – The Hunter’s Son is Dead. His name should ring bell to all lovers of Juju Music.
“Emperor Pick Peters, one of Nigeria’s great Juju musicians, succumbed to the cold hands of death today in Abeokuta at age 74. May his Gentle Soul rest in peace.”
He is known for his songs, ‘Peter L’aja Kan’ in 1976, ‘Igba Wa Dowo Re’ in 2020 and his recent project, ‘Omo Ode De’ in 2023.
