Nollywood actors, Debo Adebayo also known as Mr. Macaroni and Kate Henshaw, have slammed the government over the senator’s holiday allowances.

They frowned at the expenses being made especially at a trying time like the present state in the country.

A video had gone viral on Wednesday showing the Nigerian Senate president Godswill Akpabio informing the members of the Senate that they have been allocated an allowance to ‘enjoy their holiday’.

Akpabio said, “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly.”

The Senate President quickly changed his words using “Prayers” and “Mail Boxes” to describe the supposed disbursement. He said prayers had been sent to them.

Mr. Macaroni on Twitter went on a blast on the leaders. He said leaders ought to make sacrifices yet they are the one spending tokens to enjoy their holidays.

“These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.

“Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not for our leaders? Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness, and sacrifice??

“Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!,” his tweets read.

The actress, Kate Henshaw on her social media said, “The only “prayers” going into the “mail” of Nigerians is more taxes, more burdens, more “grin & bear it”, more “we don’t give a f@#k.

“Happy holidays to the ones meant to serve & bring succour to their constituents. Nothing do una jare. What’s the worst that can happen? Morning.”
