Gunmen suspected to be bandits have released the 29 abducted wedding guests in Zamfara State.
The bandits had on June 13, abducted 29 wedding guests while returning from Tambuwal LGA in Sokoto State.
They had demanded for N145million naira ransom before they could be released.
However, on June 23, 2022, Secretary of the Global Systems Mobile, GSM Dealers Union in Gusau, Ashiru Zurmi confirmed the release of the victims, but did not say if ransom was paid or not.
Zurmi said the 29 victims were released Thursday evening and that they were on their way to Gusau.
