Liverpool have reached the final of the English FA Cup after surviving Manchester City scare in the semifinal on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds impressed and dominated the Premier League leaders to secure a 3-2 win and keep their hopes of winning a quadruple this season.
A superb first-half display by Jurgen Klopp’s side plus a few mistakes by Manchester City gave Liverpool a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Ibrahima Konate headed Liverpool in front after nine minutes before Sadio Mane took advantage of goalkeeper Zack Steffen’s error in the 17th minute to double their lead.
Mane then scored his second of the day at the stroke of halftime.
At the start of the second half, Jack Grealish pulled one back for the Pep Guardiola side.
The pressure continued and goalkeeper Alisson twice saved crucially from Gabriel Jesus as City looked to overturn the deficit.
Bernardo Silva then pulled another back for City at the start of a tense period of stoppage time, and it looked like the game would likely go into extra time.
But Liverpool survived to win the thriller, and will face either Chelsea or Crystal Palace, who meet at Wembley on Sunday, in the final on May 14.
