The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Prince Adewole Adebayo says he will not earn a salary alongside his Ministers in their first four years in office if elected.

Adebayo made this known while fielding questions on the programme, The Polity, on Kaftan TV.

According to him, the politics played by his party is different, adding that “we are already in our mind, a shadow government” because of the plans on the ground.

The renowned lawyer affirmed that the problems of the country are not difficult to solve if the right tools are employed and the government is serious.

Noting that politicians cannot be jealous of his administration, Prince Adebayo said he will be committed to the work of governance and not be interested in any form of extravagant spending and distractions.

In his words “I will not earn a salary. In my first four years in office, no Minister will earn a salary. That is the condition, you will not end any salary.

“You will not do any business and you will not be related to any contractor and your family members will not do business for you.

“Your children who are schooling abroad must return. If you are dying of everything, you better go and die now because you can’t go abroad for treatment.

“So when you put these conditions down, people will say I want to think about it when we say you should come and be a Minister and if you accept it, we will enforce it.”
