Nigerian Grammy award-winning artiste, Burna Boy, has stated the reason he needed a Grammy award.

He said this after he received his Grammy Plaque delivered to him on Thursday.

The ‘Kilometer’ crooner posted a picture of himself with his ‘early morning delivery’ plaque he received from Grammy, on his Instagram page on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

According to his caption, he did just what his parents wanted, which was to win a Grammy Award.

He said his parents never wished for material things like houses or cars but brilliance and excellent results from whatever they do.

Burna Boy won his Grammy award in the Best Global Music Album category at the 2021 Grammy Awards with his ‘Twice as Tall’ album.

The ‘Odogwu’ singer wrote, “Early Morning deliveries from across the pond! My parents prayed for excellent children, not houses, cars or ‘things’.

“They asked my sisters for stellar degrees; one got a first-class in Finance, the other got a Distinction in Engineering. They asked me for a Grammy, and here we are. I am a product of sacrifice! Thank God and thank you all again!”
