Sensational artiste, Johnny Drille, has revealed that his wife was his first girlfriend and the only woman he said ‘I love you’ to.
The singer in a podcast session with Iyabo Ojo said he had met his wife in an event years ago in 2018 and they had reasons to work together in the months after and that got them talking.
He said the chemistry had built up and he knew she was going to be his wife.
He said, “The first time I saw her was at one of my shows in 2018. She was sitting in the front row next to a white woman. At some point, I thought both of them were white. She is mixed race.
“So, when I was working on another show in Abuja, we got talking. We met in October and by January, I knew I was going to marry her.
“And I told her I was going to marry her. For me, it was deep conviction. A lot of people will not believe this but she was my first girlfriend.
“I never had a girlfriend before her. I married the first woman that I said ‘I love you’ to.”
Johnny Drille announced his marriage to Rima Tahini, the A & R executive of Mavins Records, in the early months of 2023 during his wife’s birthday. He also revealed that they had gotten married secretly a year ago.
