The Chairman of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Buba Marwa, says he has asked for permission to conduct drug tests as part of the screening of ruling All Progressives Congress candidates for the 2023 presidential election.

Marwa, who spoke at an award event for NDLEA officers in Abuja this afternoon, said he hopes other political parties will also participate in the exercise.

Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo and Rotimi Amaechi are among APC members who have declared their intention to run for president.

The anti-drug agency’s boss reiterated the call while decorating officers who have distinguished themselves in the fight against drugs with medals and awards.

“I have said it before and I want to repeat that politicians going for public offices in 2023 should come for drug tests,” Marwa said.
