Ogun State Gov. Abiodun commends outgoing HOS Olapeju, others upon retirement

The Head of Service of Ogun State, Mrs. Selimot Olapeju Ottun, bowed out of the public service of the state, on Thursday, Nov. 4 2021.

Selimot Ottun, who was appointed with impeccable pedigree and service record, is an accomplished psychologist, community development expert and administrator, who became the fourth woman to occupy the office and the 17th Head of Service since the creation of the state.

Until her appointment, Ottun was a Permanent Secretary in the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.

Present at the special reception send forth ceremony was the executive governor of Ogun State, Dr Dapo Abiodun; Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, RT hon olakunle Oluomo; his deputy and honournable members of the assembly; the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice M.A DipeOlu, the Secretary to the Sate Government, Tokunbo Talabi, and other dignitaries.

In his address, the Governor of Ogun State, Dr Dapo Abiodun, commended the outgoing head of service for her honesty, dedication to service and ability to ensure co-operation and collaboration amongst workers while in office.

He described Selimot Olapeju as a dependable member of the state’s work force who was very amiable and hardworking.

Giving her last speech, the outgoing HOS expressed her sincere appreciation to the entire government parastatals and public service for their ultimate support in making her tenure productive.

KAFTAN TV correspondent, Adebare Jumoke, also noted that the other retirees expressed gratitude to Ogun State government for not only impacting them through their 35 years journey but also giving them an enabling environment to serve.

The workers-in-service were also advised by outgoing public servants to keep up their hardwork, dedication and commitment to serving the state.

The retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Mr. Kunle Osota, however, bemoaned the poor plan of PENCOM regarding the prompt payment of pension to pensioners.
