Party delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will now cast votes at the International Event Centre – The Dome in Alagbaka, Akure, the State capital, despite the endorsement of the indirect mode of primary by the National Working Committee of the party.

This is coming as a swift departure from the norm, which allows delegates to exercise their role at the different Local government areas of the entire three Senatorial districts within the state.

KAFTANPost correspondents also gathered that the primary will hold amidst strict guidelines as contained in the party’s constitution.

In the same vein, the following designations have been adopted as accreditation centres for the exercise:

Ondo North Delegates – Housing Corporation Hall, Ijapo Estate.

Ondo South Delegates – St Thomas’ Aquinas College, Hospital Rd, Akure.

Ondo Central Delegates – Ácadé, By ODHA Complex, Igbatoro Rd, Akure.

It would be recalled that up to seven candidates among those jostling for the APC gubernatorial ticket had earlier challenged the mode of primary adopted by the party, noting that it will compromise the principle of having a popular candidate emerge.

Meanwhile, the Yahaya Bello-led team supervising the process in the state had authoritatively stated that no candidate is allowed to dictate what mode the party should adopt.

As the searchlight beams on Ondo State in the scheduled primary for Monday, some analysts have opined that the fairness of the process and the eventual emergence of either a popular candidate or otherwise may spell the beginning of a win or loss for the APC at the October 10 general election.
