The Speaker, Osun House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye has called on officials of the local government areas in the state to desist from leaking official documents to the public and the social media.
Owoeye made the call when the executives of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun chapter, paid him a courtesy visit at his office on Tuesday in Osogbo.
The Speaker, who stated that leaking of official secrets was against the ethics of the civil service,also urged local government staff to work according by the rules and regulations guiding their job.
He also called for collaboration of the state NULGE executives and their members toward the growth, progress and development of the state.
He assured the union of the Assembly’s support toward ensuring peaceful coexistence between the workers and the state government.
Earlier, the state NULGE Chairman, Mr Deji Adeyeye , said they came to felicitate with Owoeye, on his emergence as speaker and to celebrate the victory of the governor at the Supreme Court with him.
Adeyeye, however, tasked the speaker and the state lawmakers to make constitutional amendments that would enable the state harness her resources effectively.
He also advised the state government to improve on its agriculture sector to provide more job opportunities for the unemployed youths in the state
