Panic and pandemonium rocked the camp of the factional executive of Delta APC, led by Jones Erue as Court sacked the entire executive from State to Ward levels on Monday.

The suit number FA/ASA/CS/76/2018, filed by Cyril Ogodo’s factional executive, sought for 13 reliefs praying that the Court nullified all actions purportedly taken, initiated or carried out by the first and second defendants, Jones Erue and Adams Oshiomhole as chairman of Delta APC and National chairman of APC concerning the affairs of the Party in Delta State.

The plaintiffs were also of the demand that the Court declare all the candidates who emerged through the Cyril Ogodo’s led executive primaries for the 2019 general election as the authentic candidates of the Party for the elections and to also recognised Cyril Ogodo as the authentic State chairman of APC, Delta State.

Delivering judgement by the Court, justice Toyin Adegoke granted every relief sought by the plaintiffs including the declaration of Cyril Ogodo as the authentic State Chairman of the Party.

Counsel for the defendants, Dr. Okubor Nwachukwu disagreed with the ruling and vowed to challenge it at the Appeal Court and exudes confidence that the ruling would be reversed.

On the part of the plaintiffs’ counsel, Roland Ekpe, he said his expectations came through, pointing out that, by the ruling, the candidacy of those who represented the party in the 2019 general elections under Jones Erue’s led executive including Senator Omo-Agege had been voided by the Court.

In his opinion, Mr. Turner Ogboru, a brother to the Governorship candidate of APC in the State, argued that the Court had erred in law by nullifying the primaries conducted by the National Working Committee of APC. Therefore, urged Ogodo not to celebrate the judgement yet. According to him, he was very optimistic the judgement would be upturned at the appellate Court.
