The presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last election, Prince Adewole Adebayo has expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to run for the office of the president during the 2023 poll.
The renowned lawyer was the flagbearer of the SDP, polling 80,2067 votes in the February 25 election.
In a statement on Thursday night, he thanked the leadership of the party, recalling that June 8 makes it a year he emerged at the party’s national convention.
“It is exactly one year today that the leadership and the delegates of the Social Democratic Party SDP at its National Convention on 8 June 2022 at the International Conference Centre Abuja gave me the mandate to run for the office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria by overwhelmingly electing me as the presidential candidate.
“I remain grateful for that honour and I thank my good brother who was elected as National Chairman at the same event, Shehu @Gabam, @Dr Olu Agunloye who was elected National Secretary and other members of the National Working Committee of the Social Democratic Party SDP.
“I thank my brother, friend and associate, Mallam Yusuf Salisu Buhari who ran the race with me.
“I am grateful to all members of the Social Democratic Party SDP all over Nigeria.
I thank you all.”
