Fenty mogul Rihanna has a huge reputation for changing the game with her impressive street wears, but the mom-to-be has taken her maternity style to a different level.
Before announcing her pregnancy with, iconic artist, Asap Rocky, Rihanna was able to hide her baby bump from her die-hard fans for the past several months. The ‘Rude Boy’ artist received an ambassadorial role by the government of Barbados as she kept her hands clasped together in a burnt orange halterneck dress from Bottega Veneta, she also delivered her speech in a white mini dress and blazer after accepting her National Hero insignia.
In January 22, Rihanna was spotted leaving a restaurant in New York with Asap Rocky, wearing a Martine Rose football shirt as a dress, with a Balenciaga bright red puffer coat. Rihanna kept her fans in doubt as she looked cozy in an orange shearling coat, paired with a celine loose fleece hoodie and camo pants while visiting Flight Club in the Big Apple.
Late January, Rihanna and Asap Rocky gave the world the biggest news ever, they confirmed that they are expecting their first child by releasing a picture photographed by Miles Diggs. Rihanna looked exquisite in her long pink puffer coat from Karl Lagerfeld’s fall 1996 collection for Chanel, it was unbuttoned to show off her baby bump and layers of bejeweled gold chains, complete with floor glazing jeans as she walked beneath the Riverside Drive viaduct with Asap Rocky by her side.
While pregnancy styles for celebrities like Kim Kardashian had been body-con fits or flowing dresses for pregnant Beyonce, Rihanna is re-writing the rules of pregnancy styles with jaw-dropping looks. The icon made an appearance at Dior’s fall 2022 fashion show, rocking her Savage X Fenty lace bra and g-string with a Dior lace dress, and a leather jacket paired with Malvina boots.
Although, few have aired their concern on Rihanna’s constant exposure of her baby bump, the super diva continued flaunting her growing baby bump without any remorse, she looked radiant at the launch of Fenty Beauty products at Ulta, wearing a custom-design look by Coperni, it featured a silver cropped top with cut-outs, and a sparkling embroidered maxi skirt. Recently, Rihanna posted a picture on her instagram page, looking absolutely stunning while arriving at the Nice Guy restaurant in Bottega Veneta cloth bralette, a vetements distressed jeans paired with bomber jacket and a pink vintage fox fur.
Rihanna has indeed changed the game on maternity looks by simply just dressing like herself, her style may look extremely bold to newly mothers-to-be but it has not stopped the businesswoman from having fun with fashion, on a recent interview with Vogue magazine, she admitted in having so much fun getting dressed up “I’m sorry, it’s too much fun to get dressed up, i’m not going to let that part disappear cause my body is changing”, she said.
It is with no doubt that the fashionista has once again proven to be a fashion icon.
