Nollywood is in great joy and excitement over their latest feat as four filmmakers join the Academy Of Motion, Picture, Arts and Sciences also described as the Oscars Voting Academy.
The list, which was shared on actor Richard Mofe Damijo’s Instagram page on Thursday, has the names of other actors like Kunle Afolayan, CJ ‘Fiery’ Obasi and Jadesola Osiberu.
In RMD’s post, he wrote, “I just kept seeing messages of congratulations but I didn’t know what to make of it. My people did some digging and they confirmed it is on their official website. So, it’s official. Congratulations are in order!
“Best Birthday present comes early! July my birth month comes not only with perfection but plenty gifts!
“Ps, I don’t know my sponsors for this yet but when I do I will say thank you again. My heart is glad!.”
Kunle Afolayo in his post said, “Another opportunity to serve.
“Shola Dada the writer of Roti and Anikulapo the movie and the forthcoming series is also a new member. Thanks for the invitation.”
Movie producer, Jadesola Osiberu, also shared pictures of the Academy and the list of names. She wrote, “2023 has already been quite the year but to be invited to join @theacademy is such an honour.
“14 year old Jade who dreamed of being a filmmaker, at a time when that dream seemed so ridiculous, is so excited and proud of the journey so far. I’m even more excited because I know the journey is just really beginning ????”
