The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Prince Adewole Adebayo, Tuesday, met with Tom Perez, a governorship candidate of Maryland in the United States.

The renowned lawyer hailed the former US Secretary of Labour as a legendary public servant.

Adebayo’s visit to Perez was made known in a short video posted on his Twitter handle @Pres_Adebayo.

“Today, I did a most American of all democratic rituals. I took time out of Washington DC to nearby great State of Maryland to join a legendary public servant former US Secretary of Labor @TomPerez whom @BarackObama has endorsed for Governor of Maryland, as he speaks to voters,” the tweet reads.

While also informing those present of his presidential ambition in Nigeria, Adebayo said “the common people, the ordinary people are the ones where choose their Senators, their governors and Presidents and you go around to win the votes of every person by persuasion by asking questions and being accountable for your past, the present and the future.

“For me as a candidate of election in my country, it’s an opportunity for me to be under the mentorship of Tom, who has been successful in almost everything that he’s done.

“The public has confidence in him and I saw when President Obama spoke about him when he was Labour Secretary and to serve in the Obama administration and President Obama is still following him, endorsing him for governorship and he’s being endorsed by everyone here, who needs to survive. I believe that when I come back here, we will have Governor Tom.”
