Afrobeat singer, Simisola Kosoko has chastised a female pastor who was advising women not to depend on their natural hair all the time.
Simi on her Twitter page said the woman is promoting self hate. She said women are often told what to do to meet up with the standards of men.
She said such advice especially from role models often alter women’s reasoning and they end up feeling insecure about their appearances.
Simi said many end up bleaching their skin to meet the beauty standards for men.
The pastor had encouraged women in search of their life partners to go out with their friends rather than in isolation. She said they should also present themselves well and if they need to wear artificial hair, they can.
Simi questioned the role of the female pastor, who serves as a role model, in giving such advice.
