Singer Seun Kuti has reacted to allegations of domestic violence following his assault on a police officer.
He debunked the domestic abuse rumours in an Instagram Live session where he stated that he had never hit his wife or daughter before.
Seun said people are actually jealous of their type of relationship hence the assumptions.
This is coming after many speculated that Seun’s wife might be dying in silence over her utterance in the viral video where Seun was having the altercation with the police officer.
In the video, Seun had screamed at his wife to get in the car and many had denoted from the action that the wife is scared of the saxophonist.
In reaction to this, Seun said, “The most important rumour I must dispel, is the one they said that I’m beating my wife.
“They said I screamed at her to get into the car [in the viral video] and she went into the car…That she is scared of me.
“My wife is not scared of me. Trust me, if you know anybody that knows us, I’m the one that’s scared of my wife. But my wife respects me.
“And I know that many of you Nigerian men were just jealous to see a man that can talk to his wife and his wife would listen. That’s the problem. It’s jealousy.”
