The sister of one of the victims of the Brixton 02 Academy has responded as the singer, Asake, performs at his latest concert.

A fan had reacted to the singer paying respect to the victims as he commenced the concert.

The fan tweeted, “But respect to Asake. Showing respect to the lost soul at his last London show before coming out.”

The sister of Rebecca Ikumelo, Rachael, took to Twitter now named X, to rant about how the singer had not paid his tribute to the family since the incident.

She tweeted, “What a sorry excuse of a “tribute” from @asakemusik. My sister lost her life at your show and you haven’t spoken to a single member of my family since.

“But you can hold another concert in London less than 9 months later and play their videos as a ‘tribute’? RIP Rebecca Ikumelo.

“RIP my sister Rebecca Ikumelo and also to Gaby Hutchinson. Are you actually ok? Asake has not spoken to my family or I since the initial message exchanged when my sister passed away.”

The two victims, Rebecca Ikumelo and Gabrielle Hutchinson, died during Asake’s concert when some fans who couldn’t get tickets rushed in causing a stampede.
