South African actor, Shona Ferguson, is dead

South African filmmaker and actor, Aaron Arthur Ferguson, has passed on. He died at the age of 47.

His family released a statement, stating the cause of death and when he passed on.

According to the statement, the actor died at Milpark Hospital on Friday, July 30, 2021, from COVID-19 complications.

It was reported that the actor complained of chest pains in late July and was immediately admitted to Milpark Hospital where he underwent a heart surgery.

However, he died from complications from coronavirus.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr. Shona Ferguson. He passed away at noon today (Friday, 30 July 2021). Mr. Ferguson’s untimely passing was due to Covid-19 related complications, and not a heart operation as reported in the media.

“We ask that you give the family time to process this painful loss and respect their space during this time,” the statement reads.

He is best known for his notable works like “The Queen” and “Rockville”. He also appeared in soap operas like “The Wild” and “Muvhango”.

Ferguson is survived by his wife, Connie Ferguson, and their child, Alicia Angel Ferguson.
