The creator and director of Netflix drama ‘Squid Game’, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has confirmed a second season for the drama series.
He said it at a red carpet event on Monday, Nov. 8 at NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles.
According to Dong-hyuk, there will be a plot twist to the second season.
He said one of the major characters, Gi-hun, would make a comeback in the second season.
Dong-hyuk revealed that he had to think of another because of the pressure they are under to make a second season.
He said, “I almost feel like you leave us no choice.
“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season.
“It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen.
“So I will promise you this, Gi-hun will be back and he’ll do something for the world.”
The drama series had broken the record a month after its debut in September with over 111 million viewers, superseding the series, ‘Bridgeton’.
‘Squid Game’ was also the No.1 on Netflix’s Top 10 lists in 94 countries, including the US and UK.
