A Croatian soldier, who was wounded earlier on Wednesday in a suicide attack in Afghanistan has died, the Croatian Ministry of Defence announced.

The killed soldier, born in 1992, is the first Croatian victim in 16 years since Croatia joined NATO-led mission in Afghanistan.

The attack occurred in Kabul when a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle rammed into a vehicle carrying Croatian soldiers.

Two other Croatian soldiers were seriously injured, but are in stable condition.
