The family of one of the alleged suspects in the death of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni, Michael Adewale Kashamu, has broken the silence over the incident.

In a statement issued by a family member, Mutairu Kashamu, it is confirmed that the boy, Michael Kashamu is indeed the son of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu who represented Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly.

The family dropped their condolences to the deceased in the statement released.

However, the family begged that the investigation from the law enforcement should be done thoroughly before the name calling.

According to him, the name calling will not solve the case.

He also stated that contrary to Slyvester’s claims, Michael denied his involvement after he was “carefully questioned” about his involvement in the death of the young boy.

An excerpt of the statement reads: “The Kashamu family has been inundated with enquiries, calls and messages over the unfortunate incident at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, which led to the untimely death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of the College.

“While we empathize and commiserate with the family of the late Sylvester Oromoni over the irreplaceable loss, we wish to appeal to all and sundry to hold their horses until the Police and the Lagos State government have completed their independent investigations and established the truth.”
