Nigeria forward, Alex Iwobi, was in action for Everton, whose impressive run since the resumption of English Premier League came to an end with a drab performance in a 1-0 defeat against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Monday night.

An own goal from ever reliable defender Michael Keane in the 24th minute after Giovani Lo Celso’s strike deflected off the unlucky Englishman saw Spurs return to winning ways after losing 3-1 to Sheffield Utd in their last outing.

An encounter, which in terms of quality, wasn’t up to the standard that many would expect, South Korean forward Son heung-min was involved in a row with teammate Hugo Lloris at halftime.

As Son walked towards the tunnel of the empty Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, France World Cup winner Lloris confronted him and shouting at him.

The usually calm Son responded angrily as the pair were separated by team-mates.

But the duo put their differences aside at final whistle as they shared a warm hug before leaving the pitch

Everton hardly threatened their opponent in a poor attacking display. Substitute Anthony Gordon’s long range strike was their only notable effort.

The victory keeps Tottenham’s hopes of playing European football next season alive as they climbed 8th on the log with four point behind sixth placed Wolves while Ancelotti’s Everton stay in 11th.
