Rashidat Ajibade’s second-half strike was the decider.
The Atletico Madrid forward headed home Ifeoma Onumonu’s enticing cross in the 56th minute to take the Falcons to another Mundial.
Since 1991, Nigeria has taken part in each of the eight FIFA World Cup tournaments.
The Falcons will face host Morocco in the semi-final.
