Veteran actor and lawyer, Kanayo O. Kanayo has revealed why he didn’t celebrate his 61st birthday.
The actor on his Instagram page gave his gratitude to fans who honoured his birthday with wishes and prayers.
However, he went on to lament on how unhappy he is with the turnout of the concluded election just hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had revealed the winner of the 2023 elections.
The actor who is a strong supporter of Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, said he has no reason to celebrate a failed country and her practices.
His caption read, “I am not celebrating my birthday today because INEC sold SHAME in the market. God bless you my fans and well-wishers for your support and prayers.”
In a video, he said, “There is no cause for celebration when the hearts of Nigerians are bleeding.
“I don’t want to talk about the amount of money the Federal Government has been allocating to INEC but the fact of the matter is this, Prof Mahmood Yakubu owes Nigerians.
“Nigerians should be asking Prof Mahmood not just what happened to the transmission (of results) but to refund our money.”
All Progressive Congress’s candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election with 8 million votes.
Since then, while PDP and other parties have accepted the results, Labour Party supporters are still in disbelief.
