Afrobeat singer, Iyanya Onobok Mbuk, popularly referred to as Iyanya, has revealed why reality TV stars find it difficult to make hit songs after the show.
The singer in an interview with HIP TV stated that sometimes these star makers are selected out of luck.
Iyanya who is also a product of MTN reality show, Project Fame West Africa, said the majority of those who win these shows have no plans ahead unlike the ones who push their dreams with their talents from the first day.
The ‘Kukere’ crooner said the ones who progress in the music industry after the show prayed to be on the platform, not the ones who decided to try their luck for instant fame.
He said, “Obviously, most people who win these reality shows don’t have any plans of being famous or anything.
“It just happened to them. Yeah, he has a nice voice, tried it and he won.
“So, I believe that the people who go further are the people who prayed for that platform.
“And they finally got it and they are like, ‘I’m not going back from here’. That is how I look at it.”
