Nigerian superstars, Ayo Balogun also known as Wizkid, Femi Kuti and his son, Made, have been nominated for 2022 edition of the Grammy Awards.
Wizkid bagged two nominations with his song ‘Essence’ in the Best Global Music performance category.
He also got nominated in the Global Music Album with his ‘Made In Lagos’ album.
This will be the first Grammy nomination for female singer, TEMS, who featured in the song, Essence, the fourth song in the fourth studio album ‘Made in Lagos’.
Femi Kuti and his son, Made, made the list for Best Global Music Album.
The nominees list which was released on Tuesday, November 2021, had Canadian singer, Justin Bieber and rapper Kanye West leading with the number of nominations.
Female singers like Doja Cat, H.E.R and Saweeti also lead with nominations. Lil Nas X has five nominations while Spice got her first nomination in the reggae genre.
