U.S-based Afrobeat singer, Onome Onokohwomo, popularly known as Yung6ix, has berated Davido for stating that he was among the trio that made Afrobeat what it is today.

Recall that Davido in a recent interview said Wizkid, Olamide and himself were the ones in this generation to bring Afrobeat to limelight.

In the interview, he also referred to Burna Boy, Mayorkun, and others as new cats who are making it in the industry. That had been perceived as a shade to Burna Boy.

In response to the interview, many singers reacted including Yung6ix who has been inactive for a long time.

Yung6ix in a video he posted on his Instagram page on Friday, June 6, said Davido is trying to erase his legacy. He said he made it in the industry before Davido.

He said, “David, David. How many times I called your name?

“You know I got nothing but love for you, my boy. But let’s get it straight. It was Wizkid, Olamide and Young6ix before it was you.

“We were the youngins of that time. You want to skip me from the legacy?”

He is well known for songs like In a Benz, Ferragamo, Blessings, Beautiful scars, etc.
