The vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, has alleged that he quit the People’s Democratic Party over vote-buying.
Baba-Ahmed, who was unveiled as Peter Obi’s running mate earlier today, made this known in an interview on Channels TV.
The former federal lawmaker was a member of the PDP before he joined the Labour Party this year.
He was a leading aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket in Kaduna State before he opted out of the race.
And Baba-Ahmed said he withdrew from the race and ultimately quit the party as he refused to pay delegates for their votes.
The 53-year-old said he was a misfit in the PDP all along.
According to him, “Labour Party is a train, difficult to blow up. It carries the interest of Nigerians”.
