The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unveiled a 326-member Presidential Campaign Council which includes embattled Rivers State Governor Nyesome Wike and his Oyo counterpart Seyi Makinde as members.
According to a statement, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Barture, the Campaign Council will be chaired by Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel and will be deputised by the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed – for the northern region. The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, will deputise for the organisation in the South.
The statement added that the Council will be inaugurated on Wednesday, 28th September 2022, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The list also has Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, as its Director-General.
Others are Sen. Liyel Imoke as Deputy Director-General Operations, Prof. Adewale Oladipo, Deputy Director-General administration, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Deputy Director-General Technical and systems, Okwesilieze Nwodo, Deputy Director-General, Research and Strategy.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has given political parties September 28, 2022 for official commencement of national campaigns ahead of the 2023 elections.
