The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has expressed deep sadness over the invasion of Kuje custodial facility in the Federal Capital Territory by terrorists.
Recall that terrorists broke into the prison, on Tuesday night, and released over 800 inmates, including high-profile suspects.
The Islamic State of West African Province has claimed responsibility for the attack in which President Muhammadu Buhari expressed disappointment at the facility’s intelligence system.
Reacting to the development in a statement on his official Twitter handle, Adebayo said it is indeed shameful times for President Buhari.
According to him, such humiliation is too much for one man to bear following another attack on his convoy in Katsina that left at least two dead.
The SDP flagbearer, however, offered to help the president, adding that the country’s no 1 citizen may not have a solution.
He wrote,”I am deeply saddened by the invasion of Kuje prison leading to the escape of hundreds of inmates. This, following attacks in Katsina on the advance team of @MBuhari is too much to bear for a real CnC. My sincere sympathy for President @MBuhari in this shameful time. He needs help.
”Because it is not everything that can be politically exploited, we leaders of this great but besieged nation need to meet urgently with President @MBuhari to explain the situation of things to His Excellency so that basic questions he asked online can be answered for him by me.
”The incessant attacks, prison breaks and other incidents are disconcerting enough but more worrisome is the feeling of @MBuhari groping in the dark helplessly. I am convinced that His Excellency wishes to contain the situation and cares for the nation but does not know what to do”.
