Clergyman Tobi Adegboyega has joined the list of notable celebrities who have canceled plans to mourn the loss of Davido’s son’s Ifeanyi who died as a result of drowning.

The clergyman took to his social media page on Tuesday to share a video to cancel all plans arranged for his birthday celebration and other events linked with it.

Adegboyega stated that the video is not a condolence clip but an official statement to all his guests so they can cancel their trips and also retrieve their tickets and gifts.

He revealed how painful it is to experience such an incident.

The clergyman wrote, “For the past 18 years, everyone knows November 11 is special to me. Not just because it’s my birthday but November as a whole is a month where everyone comes together to celebrate me and this year we have even planned it bigger, people have bought tickets.

“I wanted to release a video today saying welcome to November, month of blessings and all but unfortunately all these have to be cancelled.

“This video for me is not a condolence video because I know those who are affected personally but I’m saying this because of the people that I need to reach quickly to say the plan for November 11 is hereby cancelled.

“We all have to stand in faith with the bereaved. I’m a father and I understand what it means to lose a loved one. I have been a pastor for 18 years so we’re all standing in solidarity.

“I want this video to go quickly to those who might be able to retrieve their ticket money and take their gifts back, I want them to be aware quickly.

“Also the service that we planned for November 13, already has 3,000 people registered but we would have to downsize it to about a thousand people. We are going to worship and pray, trusting God to take the couple through this difficult time.

“It’s a very hard time for us as well, we have put our all into November but it doesn’t worth a life and for this life, we all stand to pray, we’re all in a sober moment. May god strengthen the family and all the families that are mourning across the world.”

The Osun PDP has also suspended all party activities to mourn the late Ifeanyi.

The Osun Caretaker Chairman of the party, Adekunle Akindele stated that it is a sad one for the family and the party but they do have to remain steadfast in their faith.

He said, “We mourn the sorrowful exit of our son, Ifeanyi. We pray for the repose of his soul. It is a sad day but we remain steadfast in our faith in the Lord of the Universe.

“Our condolence goes to Davido, our youth ambassador. We commiserate with our father figure, Dr. Deji Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family. We pray the good Lord grant the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

Singer Wizkid who had initially taken to his Twitter page to promote his album deleted the post over Ifeanyi’s death.

Kwam 1 also dedicated songs to Davido and Chioma over the loss of their son during one of his shows.
