The disagreement in Ondo State chapter of All Progressives Congress APC in Ipele Owo Local Government Area has reached its peak as the members unanimously passed vote-of-no-confidence on the executive of the party in the community.

In a well attended gathering of the party on Saturday, at the party Secretariat in the community, members expressed their displeasure over the attitude of the state women leader, one Mrs Renike, who hails from the town.

Some of the members, who addressed the well attended meeting at the party’s Secretariat in the community, complained of marginalization, alleging the ward executive of running the affairs of the party unilaterally.

In his address, Hon. Akelebe Bunmi alleged that one of the state leaders of the party, who is from the ward, was undermining the party’s strength by hijacking benefits due to members of the ward.

Akelebe alleged the ward executive of non transparency and accountability, saying the executive failed to open a bank account for the finances of the ward.

Speaking with newsmen, Hon. Tubosun Elehinle, one of the leaders of the party, explained that the meeting held was a forum for disgruntled members to air their grievances and the leaders present would fashion out lasting solutions to the disagreement.

He said the meeting became necessary to put their house in order ahead of the next election in the state to prevent the party from losing any election due to polarization of the party in the ward.

Elehinle noted that the ward wanted to ensure strong representation at the party’s forthcoming congress through unanimous selection of the delegates.

Hon. Tunde Imolehin, another leader of the party, disclosed that there were complaints by members of the party against the ward executive and one of the state leaders in terms of how the affairs of the party at the ward is being run, which needed to be curbed immediately for the good of the party.

He explained that the community has been affected by the ongoing disagreement in the party as effort could not be made to attract any meaningful developmental project to the community.

Imonehin disclosed that they organised the meeting with the approval of the party’s leader in the community, Senator Titus Olupitan.

He, therefore, said the resolutions reached at the meeting would be listed in the communiqué that would be issued and forwarded to the party’s executive at the local government and the state executive at the state Secretariat for proper action.
