The daughter of former Iya Oloja of Ibadanland, late Aminat Abiodun, Fatimah, was shot at her house in Bashorun, Bodija in Ibadan.
The incident happened on Wednesday and she was confirmed to be shot in the head, according to NAN.
The gunmen, who were reported to have committed the act, waited a long time assuring she is dead before leaving the house. It was also reported that nothing was stolen in her residence.
The Police have confirmed the loss through its spokesman, Adewale Osifeso.
A relative, on Wednesday, while reporting the incident to newsmen described the deceased as a peace-loving person.
The relative said, “Our sister, the daughter of the late Iya Oloja Abiodun, was assassinated in Basorun, Bodija area of Ibadan. It was an unprovoked attack in her house, given that Fatimah was a peace-loving person.
“Information I have revealed that she was shot several times by the gunmen. This is a big loss to the family.”
The former Iyaloja who was one of the five important persons in Ibadan died in 2018. She was 94.
