Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has likened the victory of his counterpart in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki to his re-election.

“I did it in Sokoto, you did it in Edo. Congratulations to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party family. A well-deserved victory,” he wrote via his official Twitter account on Sunday.

Like Obaseki, Tambuwal dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Nonetheless, he returned as governor for another term of four years.

Mr Obaseki clinched victory with 307,955 votes ahead of the APC’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu who garnered 223,619.
