Breaking:Hon. Akin Olufemi Gbajabiamila trounces Hon. Umar Bago to become the Speaker of the 9th Assembly.
The Honourable member representing Surulere Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Hon. Akin Olufemi Gbajabiamila defeated Hon. Umar Bago with a wide margin of 205 difference in votes, having polled a total number of 281 votes against Hon. Umar Bago who scored 76 votes.
In another development, Hon. Ahmed Wase who represents the good people of Wase Federal Constituency of Plateau State, emerged Deputy Speaker of the 9th Assembly unopposed.
In the election, a total of 358 members casted their votes, while Hon. Akin Olufemi Gbajabiamila polled a total of 281, Hon. Umar Bago scored 76 votes.
Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has been sworn in as the Speaker elect of the 9th National Assembly.
