Actress Mercy Johnson has responded to rumours that she had cancer after an interview with her colleague, Joke Silva.

Recall that the actress in a recent interview with Silva stated that she had a surgery on her throat because she had a cancer scare after her fourth child.

In the interview, Mercy stated that she discovered that it was a thyroid problem and she was to be placed on medication for the rest of her life. She said she had assumed it was cancer.

An excerpt of the interview read, “I had a cancer scare and I had like my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

“My last was six months at that time and then we kept on saying okay, we have to understand that this is the new us, let’s go get the surgery done.

“And then we got there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life and it was a reality that we had to sit down.

“You know, them giving me a timing and telling me you can’t miss your medication. Once you wake up that day, that’s the first thing. Telling me all of the side effects.”

However, in a new post on her Instagram on Sunday, she debunked the cancer rumour.

She also showed her surgery scar.

According to her, the interview was misinterpreted because people only saw a few clips of it.

The mother of four encouraged people to see the full clip of the interview to clear their doubts.

She appreciated everyone. She said, “I am perfectly okay. Thank you so much for all of your calls, your messages. All these phones have been buzzing like crazy. I am perfectly fine and do not have cancer.

“I do not have cancer in Jesus’ name. Thank you guys.”
