Several celebrities have taken to their social media pages to mourn their friend and colleague, Rico Swavey, who lost his life to an auto accident.

Rico was pronounced dead in the early hours of Thursday, October 13, 2022, after the doctors tried to resuscitate him following the crash days ago.

His Double Wahala colleague, Ifunnada questioned God for the life He took. She said she has a lot of questions for God because He takes the good ones leaving the bad leaders on Earth.

In a series of Instastories, she apologised to God for her previous outburst, mourning her colleague. She described Rico as one of the good ones among other housemates in the season.

Her posts read, “Guys, I just confirmed that Rico is gone. I’m crying and my hands are shaking as I type this. I don’t know why God did this. I mean we prayed and begged him, some of us even donated… I don’t know why God does the things he does, none of it makes sense to me, but Rico, a great guy is no longer with us.

“Rico was the best of us and his heart was so pure. I don’t know why God did this. It doesn’t make sense.

“Or maybe there’s no God? Cos why do you say ‘ask and it shall be given’, but we ask and we don’t get. What sort of thing is that?

“May God forgive me for asking if there’s a God in my last story. I know there’s a God, but most times I don’t understand the way He works…leaves me with many questions.Bad people who I feel should die are alive, but the good ones keep dying. None of it makes sense to me. May God have mercy on me, May God have mercy on us all.

“Who is responsible when a good person dies?God or the Devil? I believe God is responsible because all powers belong to Him and He could easily turn things around if He pleases, especially when we pray and beg… God isresponsible when agood person dies…

“My head is filled with so much right now as is my heart. I have so many questions; why did God let this happen? Nothing makes sense to me. Rico was a great guy, so peaceful and kind, so warm and welcoming. None of this makes sense to me.

“If someone really needed to die, God could have taken one of our bad leaders. Nobody will miss them, nobody will mourn them. But what do I know? What can I do? This is not fair.

“My heart is broken, I’ve lost loved ones this year. People who deserved to live. Makes me wonder how God determines who should die and who should live. Makes me wonder how much time I have left on Earth. Nothing Makes sense to me. May God have mercy on us all.”

Bambam, who is also another Double Wahala housemate, stated how Rico was very close to her family. She shared a few clips of the time spent in the Big Brother Naija house and some of the moments in their personal background.

She said Rico plays with her husband till morning in their house and stated how his death is a painful loss to them.

She wrote, “I am in denial. My heart is heavy, it’s shattered into many pieces. I am truly speechless

“No !, my home was your home Rico. You and Teddy vibing to great tunes and making great music and playing Fifa till 6am.

“So many unfinished project Rico, we had plans”.

Nengi took to Instagram to mourn her ‘baby’ and brother. She said life will never be the same again. She shared pictures they had together and how they communicate with text messages.

She said writing his tribute is the hardest thing she had done in a long time.

Nengi wrote, “This is the hardest thing I’ve had to do in a long time. Deepest pain I’ve felt since I lost my mother. I prayed, I was hopeful, I woke up expecting some good news but God in his infinite wisdom knows best….

“I’m grateful for all the joy you brought me, I’m grateful to have experienced you. Every single time the world is against me, you’re there defending and encouraging me. You’ve been there every step of the way.

“My sweet boy, a rare gem, happiest person I know… I lost my brother and life would never be the same. Rest well baby.”

Actor Kunle took to his page to remix a video the deceased made before his passing. He said he will be remembered with his smile and personality.

Level Up’s Groovy shared a video taken just days ago with the deceased. He said they had talked and had listed plans for the future together.

Ebuka, Whitemoney, Angel Smith and many other BBNaija housemates have paid their tribute to the wonderful soul who passed today.
