Afrobeat singer, Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni, has opened up concerning an alleged kidnap attempt on her when she was performing in Rivers State.
Recall that a viral video had circulated in the media yesterday, Monday, showing Teni fleeing the stage after a ruckus was heard.
Witnesses claim they heard gunshots. Another source claimed she was indeed lucky because it was an attempt to kidnap her.
However, the singer had taken to her Instagram page to clarify the news.
According to her, she is grateful to be fine because it could have been a different story, adding that she and her team are safe.
Teni wrote, “(It) could have been a different story entirely but I’m grateful to God.
“Myself and entire team are safe and back home now. Thanks for the calls and messages.”
In another post, she wrote, “It all happened so fast. There was no incidence of attempted kidnap
