Kanye West sells documentary to Netflix for $30M

Netflix has been reported to have purchased a documentary series spanning two decades of Kanye West’s life for $30 million.

The series which has no official title to it yet, is expected to be released this year and will see to the transition of Kanye from his music career to the budding fashion mogul, his failed 2020 presidential bid and the death of his mother, Donda West.

This will be the hidden Kanye, not sure if this would include reports on his mental health but it’s speculated to see to footage and home videos of his personal life.

Netflix acquired the series from music video producing team Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, who have been documenting the rapper’s movements over the past two decades. The duo, more commonly known as Coodie & Chike, were behind West’s music videos for ‘Jesus Walks (Version 3)’ and ‘Through the Wire’.

Recall that Kanye West won his first gospel Grammy award for his album “Jesus is King” in the 63rd Grammy Award ceremony.
